Replaced the yesterday on the old woman's motor.

Just wondering how tight they have to be, seems the tighter I do them all it's doing is squashing the rubber.

Is it a case of just nipping them up or squash the hell out of the rubber till the nut really don't move?

I don't want to over tighten.

I did mine a few weeks ago and just tightened them up with about 10mm of thread poking outta the top of the nut

So not fully tightened then as such?
These are motor factor ones and I'm sure I've got excess thread there, about 25mm so far!

Just do up till contacted then another 1/2 turn ?

i put mine on with the windy gun till it felt tight, then cheked with a bar when it wouldn't turn without bigish force.
