Default Wing Repair - options?

a few weeks ago i scraped my car when coming out of a parking space

this has left some nice scratched on the bumper and a chunk out of the wheelarch, pics below.

now ive had one quote from a bodyshop to fix and it pretty much covers a full on repair and complete repaint of half the car, and it's about £600

now i'm not a pikey, but on a car worth so little, of average condition, and of no real sentimental value, i dont really fancy paying top whack for a proper job.

so, are there any other options that would improve the appearance and cost significantly less? i'm not taking about whacking on a load of filler and spraycaning over it, but something that would look ok and not out of place on a 14 year old M3.

cheers

take it to another bodyshop, there is no need to blend the door they will have plenty of room in the wing to fade the colour out.

Are the wings not bolt on?

If so just bide your time and buy a secondhand one in the right colour, and just use a touchup stick on the bumper, not like its going to rust!

Yes their bolt on,pretty straightforward.
Go and get a Boston green one from eBay/scrappy etc, there's always loads of these breaking.
Make sure you get one for your variant though as apparently they differ between saloon and coupe?
Id say no more than £50-60 delivered.
Whoever quoted you £600 is royally taking the Mick, that's a £200 job on a good day, after all you could pick up a mint second hand wing for £30,scotch it off, edge it,swap it over with the damaged one, paint and blend into the door in well under 5 hours.
£600 would even raise eyebrows by an insurance company unless they insisted you use genuine Beemer parts.
Someone's tried putting m3 tax on that!!

To repair and paint the bumper and wing that should be no more than £280 tops mate.

£600 is just a piss take, you need to go to another bodyshop.

Sorry, just spotted the bumper(must learn to read things correctly) and yes,£280 as quoted above is fair.
I'd say no more than a few hours to swap them over.
As I said though, make sure it's the right variant,I'm sure they differ?

im in for ribs

and yes youre right theyre different variants.

coupe+vert vs saloon+touring and also pre vs post facelift

ive got some touch up paint left from when the spoiler was painted so i'll put that on the bumper and splodge a bit over the damage too until i get myself a wing.
