Default no claim discount

How would I get a proof of my no claim discount, since I've not taken a car insurance of the past eight years?

Will have lapsed mate, only stays for 3 years (may be 5 ?) IIRC unless the car is on a classic policy in which case they 'suspend' them, but seeing as there's no insurance in place that won't matter.

You'll have lost the NCB by now.

as above really but i thought it was 2 years.

if you can prove you've been driving a company vehicle for x number of years without any claims then you may get given a few years ncb.

for private insurance - if you have not had a policy for two years then any NCB you may have accrued will be invalid.

you will have to start again!

i dont belive that company insurance counts either

If you have been on a company insurance deal though, some of the better insurers will consider this if you pick up the phone and have a chat.

As said most Insurance companies will only honor NCB that have lapsed within 2 years.
