stickertone

my passatt tdi was bonging at me today and telling me to check oil level, i've done this now and it was prob a fraction under mjnimum so i assume it was that, however i started it up and took it up the road and its still on, someone said to me the sensor float sometimes takes a while to come back up, has anyone heard of this before?? how long might it be before it stops lying to me?? cheers
