WD40 helps, but ultimately new / good s/h motors is the only way to get them going quickly. All older Fords do it mate. My method with my drivers side window is simple - give it a helping hand

Take the doorcards off and lave a look at the mechanism when its closing, might just need a good clean up

Mine are very slow in my S2. Going to try stripping cleaning and reasembling tomorrow to see if that improves them.

The ones on the 2i were always quick and never gave even a hint of trouble

Mine were doing exactly the same thing. Bought some of the equivalent of window rubber KY and it freed them up. They were sticking very slightly in the rubbers and this lubricant i bought, specifically for window rubbers (honest lol) after a quick spray, no more problems. Can't for the life of me remember what it was called but it was a CVC window dresser (posh name for window lube !)

Hope this helps

Remove electrics & revert back to manual wind up's then the speed in which they go up or down will be in your hands

And attach the auto closing on the alarm wire to your forehead so you don't forget to close the windows

DAve, take the switch out and clean the connections. As most of the time they corrode and the connections, sand them of and the windows will go up and down like they was new. Well that was the case with my windows and i know a few peeps were the same

Don't think that will really help tbh Unless the rubbers at the bottom are realy sticking to the glass, it's the mechanism etc that needs looking at.

Normally the "total closure" is doen with the engine not running and both windows at once. Obviously the motors are drawing quite a lot of current, so if your battery is not up to scratch due to long periods of inactivity, then this could be the problem...

From memory, Dave has an Optima Yellow Top in the car, so more than enough power.

Unless of course, he's been "blazing his tunes at the local cruise"

Dave, you need to strip the doors out, clean the pivots etc with WD, then grease them up good

If you only use WD40, then they will sieze up in 5 minutes again as its purely a solvent, not a lubricant

HTH

Neil.
