Default 4x4 starting motor....

anyone know what type of starting motor is on a 4x4 cossie 1990...i.e part number...

is it the same as say the 2wd? 3door? escort cossie...

trying to get a new one and no one seems to have a clue at the suppliers...

It's the same as an escort, I have just fitted a valeo one to mine I will post up the part no later as it is listed for a granada not a sierra.

The Escos should in theory be the same as a 4x4 (After all they are the same mechanics essentially) the 2WD however I am sure will be different.

Valeo part no is 455839 it is a smaller bodied starter but does fit and is more than man enough for the job. The top bolt had to be changed to a cap head Allen key, as it was too close to the starter body with the STD bolt.
