i think its a great idea

As for "who is going to look after it" Forrest has gone well out of his way to put this car together aswell as the trailor to tow it to the events. No doubt he will spend even more time keeping it up to standard for this years events.

If any members of the Essex RS Owners club wants to drive it round the track for a session they will need to contact the club VERY soon as the places are numbered and running out

I agree with Jano, and TBH what other club has does this?????
Exactly none.
And who cares what car it is, I mean they are hardly gonna use an unrealible turbo, or build a n RS500 touring car replica are they???
The car is only an XR3i but it weighs about 50kg, has bucket seats a cage, fuel tank in boot, no dash etc etc.
I say well done

For what? Track use?
I doubt it, they said if it's smashed up, then they'll fix it, if it's a write off then they'll get another for a couple of quid.
If you drive like a cock and crash it, then you gotta give them a hand fixing it.

lol

I can see that ending up in court...

the person who maintains the vehcile has a Duty Of Care that he/she cannot discharge regardless of who is the owner/driver!!

I don't think this idea has been well thought through or planned!!!!

I agree too, i think its a great idea and i've really enjoyed working on the car

I know how much time, effort and money Forrest has dedicated to bring this whole project together, so i hope that people treat it with a little respect, obviously with it being a track car it's gonna get a good thrashing BUT there IS a difference between 'driving it hard' and 'taking the piss'

At the end of the day, the car has been made for the the Essex RSOC members, if you abuse it to much then you are ruining it for everybody. I think that if you break it, then you should help fix it, simple.

The reason it's an XR3i is because it's simple. If it goes bang then we can source another engine easier and cheaper than getting another RST lump, and we dont have to worry about setting it up and theres always the turbo reliability problems

The Essex RSOC is (as cossymad said) the first RSOC to have there own track car, so i expect there will be some problems to start with but i say give it a chance, if it all goes pear shaped then so be it, but u cannot say they didnt give it a try.

I also say well done

PLEASE NOTE The following has yet to be confirmed:

You have to join the Essex RSOC to be able to drive it. Booking is on a on a first come first served basis, and there is a charge to use the car, but that will include petrol e.t.c.

I believe the idea is that you pay your money and all you have to worry about is actually driving the car round the track, when your track time is up (20mins) you simply get out and hand it back, thats it

Could Buffy or Forrest please confirm this for me please

Hi ya all
Yes you have to be a fully paid up Essex member ... to drive the track car ..

alot of time and effort has gone in to the car and Forrest had worked his back side off as well as the members its a very good idea and we know what we are doing .... and how its going to work ...

Thank you to all the people that helped and supported us through out...

And AS FOR CLUB INSURANCE!!!!!!!!! for a TRACK U HAVEING A LAUGH YA DONT NEED ANY(Drivers of the track car will sign a disclaimer be for use).... if you break it its only fair you help fix it .. fair is fair... that the rules and if you dont like em well thats tough .....

J871 yhk all you ever seem to do is dig at the fooking Essex Rsoc If you actually met Forrest he is a top bloke that puts a hell of alot of time in to the club and a hell of a lot of money in to it and 100% of people appreciate him....

back to the USL days oh please why dont you go and f**k urself dont start war again.... its over and we dont need some one like you with nothing better too do than slagg Essex RSOC off Grow up and stop acting like a kid....

i aint being funny just carnt be aRse d with the slagging off agg.....
Slagg some one Else off coz Essex And Pf dont do agro any more (am i right pop's)

Cheers
Buffy
