The mk3 is road legal & doing the times on road legal tyre not drag slicks like the 2wd cars run
His times will be limited by terminal speed
If it cross's the finish any faster than 150mph they won't let him run till it's fitted with a Shute & I can't see that ever happening

don't think he will get to 150 blacky. andy nichols has only got there once with 2wd and about the same power.. with 4wd he should get a much better launch but a slower terminal.

I understand that it is early days for this car but what quater mile times can be expected of this car ?
To get this into perspective, Specky's vauxhall tigra is 2wd, road legal, the whole car probably cost less than the FFD and rear diff, on the old engine did high 9's.

Just got back from cf, seen some top cars. Wenny did a 10.6 best I think, was going back on the trailer as we left at 4 ish.
Cars of the day would be the blue mk1, think that's a pinto on nitrous which ran a 10.8, sounded awesome ! Wennys car for the full throttle gear changes and I think it's Terry with the Cossack mk2 escort who ran a 10.0 as we were leaving.
Loads of nice cars on display, weather let it down slightly. Managed to pick up some bits for my car so happy enough !

From what I can gather the guys have spent most of yesterday and today looking for a missfire in 6th gear, plugs coil pack and all sorts have been changed to no avail.
After a 10.2 run this morning Wenny went over the run and chatted to Mr Willpedal box and worked out the car is hitting the soft rev limiter at about 8k 3/4's of the way down the 1/4 mile strip. The 6th gear is topping out at 137mph of something.
No question the car has a 9 second pace, Wenny just needs to looks at wheel size or gearing.
Fair play to Wenny and the guys, 10.0 yesterday and a 10.2 today is great work on the first shake down of the year

I took a vid of the car in question as it was one of my faves. I also loved the silver mk 1 fiesta which i was told had a scooby lump in it.
it makes the white series 2 look like it was standing still.

time for a set of 215-50-15 r888s slight better traction than his 195's and should gear it up enough to stop it hitting the limiter.
p-s wenny i have a pair if you want to test fit for clearance

Mk1 is Chris Todd's car, and yes has a scooby engine the back. Broke his box though.

evening all
just got in from a quality weekend with wenny and the crew
as posted before ,
on saturday , first run of the day with will onboard checking the fuelling ect ran a 10.02 the marshalls then informed us that he wouldnt be allowed to run a passenger as he was passing 130 mph terminals
over the 12 odd runs over the weekend he was consistently between 10.02 and 10.09
as warren said a missifire was traced tot eh soft cut , and the gearings too short ,
iirc i think its going to go back to bara for a gearing change ,
but the car performed faultlessly , fucking hellishly fast and he aint even in the groove yet ,
with the correct gearing on 888's i reckon theres eaisly a mid 9 in there ,
thats before slicks and upping power ect ,
i fucking love it lol !!
ohh and fyi lol ,
wenn only got two hrs sleep this morning , im fucking amazed he could even start the car lol .
munch , yes that was my ass , if u got the pic id appriceate it lol

thanks for all the comments peeps, im happy the car ran fine but not happy i didnt get a 9 lol, i have alot of practice to do on the launches yet and i need to speak with bara to see what the next step is
best 60ft was 1.531
i still have the flat shift to fit and i think i can change gear even wuicker with more practice, i was on the drink till 7am this morning so only had 2 hours kip which didnt help
