Default Saff 4x4 fuel pressure.

I'll be buying an msd chip for my saff soon and was just wondering how people are testing fuel pressure on the 4wd cars with the reg direct on the rail

the cossie 4x4 fuel reg are factory set to 3.5bar at idle, if you want to test it you will have to T into the fuel supply hose to rail before reg with a suitable fitting for a fuel pressure gauge

Mine is bolted directly onto the fuel rail As it's a 4x4. So there Is no hose between the rail and the regulator. Mine also still has the factory tamper seal fitted so is it still likely it will need adjusting

we have a special adaptor that allows us to tee into the fuel rail, but you can check the pressure by breaking into the line on the inner wing down by the map sensor,

Won't that only give me the pump pressure and not the rail pressure? What about t'ing into the return line at the other end of the rail

The regulator holds pressure in the line before it so if it's set to 3.5 bar idle, then you will see 3.5 bar whether you check it at the rail or directly after the fuel pump, after the regulator will just be what the regulator is bypassing so is irrelevant.

You have to measure the pressure somewhere before the regulator.

Whoever told you that doesnt understand how a fuel system works.

The regulator pressure "IS" the pump pressure. That is what the regulator is for, to regulate the fuel pumps output pressure.
