Default 'Abandoned' car help please

Right, a week ago my neighbour moved out and asked if they could park their car on our drive/garden, saying they'd be back in a couple of days to collect it, once they'd got some tax on it. Now, not had any sign of the now ex neighbour, and having spoken to the landlord of next door, it doesn't seem likely we will see them at all, (they done a runner owing rent). So, what can I do? And how long should I wait before I do anything? Landlord doesn't have a forwarding address for them so can't contact them. Its not exactly a new car, R reg Audi A4 1.8 saloon,

become a goldmember and post it up as spares or repairs

get someone to take it away and then claim to know nothing about it if the owner reappears

Sorry - after just a week.

Is it a big problem/in the way.

Why say yes?

If you haven't heard owt after a month then it disappears in my book.

Have to agree with this really,it is only a week and as long as it's not really in your way I'd give it til at least the end of the month.if there's still no contact then, call the scrap man and get it moved, but make sure you get someone else to make the call, collect the money etc as it looks as though you know nothing about it then.
In this case I'd say it's not worth applying for the logbook as
A:you know the people
B:it's only worth Ł400 at best
C:you'll get Ł200 scrap for it with no hassle.

Why give the landlord fuck all??

a month, fuck that - if they said they will back in a few days, that means 3 days in my book.

they are obviously pikey cunts if they havnt paid the rent, so if it were me (wouldnt have agreed to have a car dumped on my drive in the first place ) then the cunt would be apart and on ebay by now

ok i hate ebay, i would have just scrapped it!

"Can I leave my car here to avoid the traffic when I go to the football mate, I'll be a couple of hours tops."

"Yea sure, couple of hours is no bother."

......5 hrs later......

"Sorry I'm late, met an old friend and had a pint and a chat with him.. where's the car gone?"

"You exceeded the agreed time, so I scrapped it."

Cheers,
Grant

these days its common practice for football hooligans/fans just to park on local residents drives regardless of permission as they know the home owners cant legally do anything for such short times.

Cut the cat off it, weight it in, make Ł200 on it, dont give any to the landlord as they might not have paid the rent because he was being a prick, just like mine is at present.

suppose you could just sell it, scrap it, weigh it in etc, but then you could also put it to one side in your mind and keep it there for a while longer, maybe 2 months at most,

you never know the guy / couple could be going through some hard times especially with so many people loosing thier jobs nowadays , landlord being a cock, u might find that you keeping thier car safe is a life saver in a way.

+ as people say IF they are like the pikey socitey they know where u live theres always a 99% return if its pikeyfied.

me If the car was sound, ( regardless of age ) after 2 months, log book it into my name, use it as a daily driver , put ur own car on the drive, wont be so bothered about dinks scratches etc then.

just an idea.

Apply for log book, if you don't have keys get a set from the scrappy and get somebody nice with VAg-Tacho to code them and sell it, should make an easy Ł600 off it if its tidy
