Default cosworth radiator fans question

had my escort estate running today and when it got up to temperature only one fan kicked in,ive got the switch and fans wired up to the escort wiring loom so wasnt sure if that was the reason,or does the other fan kick in if the temperature gets higher

Escort switch brings on fan on at a certain temp, then the second at a higher temp. I can't remember the temps though. So if you are using the 4 pin fan switch, whats happening is probably correct.

its in my mk4 escort estate, ive converted it to 4x4 and cosworth engine and running gear,im using a basic escort loom with the cosworth loom wired into it,the radiator has come out of a sapphire so its only a 2 pin plug which ive wired up to the car loom and ive done the same with the fans aswell so did think they should both work together

I can remember when the fans used to kick in on my old sierra hatch back. Only one fan would kick in then when it got a bit hotter the other fan would kick in. On my saff cossie both fans kick in all the time.
