Default Best HPI check

As above on behalf of a mate, who's interested, but is suspicious as the seller only has the sellers part of the V5, and is of a dubious character(worse than I!!).
Trying to find out is outstanding finance or stolen etc,
thanks for any input,
tabetha

Tabetha - Just text the reg to 83600.

I have used it a few times, has told me about cars being cat c/d and an impreza that was stolen and the date it was nicked ( 1 week before)

It costs £3 and you get 3 messages

i use HPI . Full report on 3 cars for a score. Handy when you have a few lined up to view

A lot of those cheap moody ones only give you are paschal report for a couple of quid and say they have more important news on the car for an extra charge

HPI well worth it plus you get a report sent out iirc. Will be kicking himself if he buys it and it gets taken off him, cost a lot more than £20.

Thanks for the help lads, it's actually a m/bike a CCM 604 R30.
I would text the reg, but I don't know how(seriously), never done a text in my life, don't use mobiles, hate the things with a passion, I think they are killing society, just my veiw.
I'll get onto one of these though, it's actually my mate who is also my landlord, maybe I'll have a rent rebate!!
thanks

Slightly off the topic but how would you know if anybody has taken a logbook loan on it?

I don't know tbh, fortunately this one has some odd history that makes that almost, but not entirely impossible, I would assume the log book loan would be recorded ?

Tis what i always do and the £20 is well worth the piece of mind plus what i do is keep the report in the cars file for when it gets sold on again

Tabetha, BEWARE OF TEXTCHECK, it will tell you if it's been written off, stolen etc, but it does not tell you if the vehicle is on finance, as some of you may know I repo for finance companies, and new keepers are losing cars because they only did a text check thinking it tells you if lenders have an interest in it.. It doesnt.. Only I proper hpi will tell you this.. Hope this helps anyone reading this out in the future!

My mondeo that I bought as a damaged repairable was on finance, the new "owner" used a rubber cheque, then made no payments, then decided as he knew he'd lose the car to run it with no oil or water in it till it stopped, the garage(my mates) that I bought it from was even broken into by him stealing certain parts.
I contacted my(motoring) solicitor mate, who advised me NOT to buy until I had "title", he drafted me a letter and the finance co were happy to sign it giving me title, must be cheaper than them paying the garage recovery fees plus storage etc etc, so good advice as usual on pf.
My landlord bought the bike, from Newton Flotman, Nr Norwich, it has a few running issues with cutting out after about a minute each time, but was £1450 for a 2002, with 2800 miles on it, CCM 604 R30.
