Totally legal, allowed to use 2500 litres per year before you have to declare tax payments. Of COURSE, you keep ALL the reciepts you collect . Plus if you manage to use 250 litres a month (yes I know there are 12 months in a year!) you are doing serious milage!

not been for a proper run in it yet, will do when i finish work tomorrow, seems to run exactly the same to be honest but will update after a good run,
worth a try tho mate, even with new ur saving around 40p a litre,
even lpg is getting more expensive

I didn't buy diesel for nearly 8 months, mk2 Mondeo td. Just pour it straight in, will run perfectly on the old mechanical systems. DO NOT run any high pressure diesel on veg, it will kill it very quickly due to tight pump tolerences needing the lube from the diesel.
When it gets cold, just run 1/4 mix of diesel to stop it being too thick. If you can be arsed filtering old oil, you can almost run your car for free.

I am sure they do mate, it is just a case of having the right equiptment to run it safley, I would hate to tell someone to run it in thier E60 BMW and for it to kill it , hence I only advise what I know is safe , and if you kill a £300 mondeo it really dosn't matter that much.

Can anyone tell me why, that when many moons ago i ran a M registration Ford Mondeo MK1 turbo diesel on it and i would put a £5 of diesel to every 20 litres of neat new veg oil and it would run fine, but when i did the same with my S reg, Mondeo MK2 turbo diesel within a few weeks the exhaust or something blew, the garage took it in for repair and said id been using cooking oil and it had gunked it up and the pressure of the diesel engine which is what caused the exhaust to blow, i think it was either the manifold, turbo or downpipe can't remember, i just rememeber heading to B&Q one morning on the motorway cruising at 70 and then the engine noise just tripled any ideas?

as above i ran my old mondeo mk2 td on on used 50/50 mix of veg oil and diesel. They have a mechanical fuel pump so can run it but i wouldnt run it straight as that asking for trouble. I even ran new veg oil from costco like you with no issues but always mixed in a bit of diesel too.
Then i ran my x reg Astra on processed bio-fuel for over 2 years with no issues (electronic fly-by-wire fuel pump). But the guy i got it off was a proper chmical engineer and really knows his stuff - never had any issues and i hardly ever went into the petrol station.
I think the bio that some of the people above are talking about has not been processed properly hence killing the vans. I had a hire van last year, Merc Sprinter and put bio in that even though the label said dont use bio didnt have any issues at all
You can run bio on the newer fly-by-wire fuel pumps as the toelrances are so fine.
PS> I get bio cheaper than that

why would you want to be a fucking mug and pay retail at £1.10 a litre on the wrong fuel for your car??
When with a waste carriers license if your careful you can get the oil for sub 50p a litre as waste oil and when refined into biodiesel costs less than 80p a litre and has virtually none of the problems associated with running veg oil on its own.

if i got 20 litres for £20.00 how are you working out that i paid £1.10 per litre??? do the maths!
if the engine runs perfect as it does i have to do nothing,
and comes in at 20p a litre more than processed
its an old smoker i use now and again and wanted to try it out
i have a bmw i wouldnt touch with it and an 08 transit i wouldnt either

A mate had a 205, he ran it on anything. Old engine oil from work, veg oil etc etc. It did 50mph or something as well, was slow, and shit, but cost him about a fiver a week to get to work.

still to me seems a lot of hassle to save a few quid a tank. I wonder how the MPG is? its supposed to be less on veg oil.
I still think your better off going down the waste veg oil route if you want to do it long term and make decent savings.
I cant see how the savings on plain new veg oil is really worth it unless your doing mega miles saving a thousand or more a year compared to normal diesel.
