Hi ive got a 2000 racing puma and the revs seem to stay high after ive changed gear so if it was at 3K and i change up it stays at 3K till i change up or down an auto elec told me about a yr ago that the lambda sensor was breaking down/was lazy with its readings. do you think it is this that has finally gone?

TPS? My Escort seems to go through these at a fair rate and the symptoms are much the same.

For the sake of a couple of quid might be worth changing that and see if it helps.
