right ok then mate, what would you suggest for an all round good set that can take some abuse i know for a road car its pointless just like the idea of having the stopping power if it is ever needed

i dont buy drilled discs anymore they always seem to crack on the edge of the drill holes, just grooved would be my choice.

Some people like ebc just put a dimple in the disc, with or without grooving as well, so they don't crack.
Either dimpled or grooved will make a big difference keeping the pads clean, but combined will be even better, pad choice I wouldn't use greenstuff, I fade these every week even on the gf's 1.4 astra auto with 84bhp, I would get redstuff, or even yellows if really hard on the brakes.
The problem I had with brakes was the drilled ones SPLIT, a gap of 2-3mm would open up from the hole outwards to the edge of the disc in s straight line and be about 2-3mm wide at the outer edge, but I'm mentally hard on the brakes.
