Default Can I wax over a 3week old respray

Would like to give the car a polish and wax when I get her back tomorra can I do the above or will it harm the paint cheers

shouldn't harm it as any good paint shop would of had to cut the paint back then polished it anyway so go for it :P

Yer the painter said he was sanding or the paint work up today so does that mean I'll just be doing the same thing as he's doing again there's a name for what he doing but I can't think off it ahh

i would leave it for a while to allow the paint to harden

not that i guess it would do it any damage to polish it but if it was mine i would leave it for a while

It will be fine to wax as long as there is no cut in the wax i do alot of newly painted cars .. the paint will be fine

you wil be fine mate to use a light cut polish and wax it..No probs go for it.

As said I personally woulden't do it, I seem to remember Haynes saying you shoulden't polish for 6 weeks after a respray.

Local bodyshop to me says leave it alone for 2 weeks and it will be fine after that

I left mine for 6 weeks before even washing so as to let the paint settle properly and really harden off.

Exactly, Harden, is a chemical reaction, not like drying. It will do nothing to 2k paints if polished the next day or after a couple of hours if baked. Ive painted stuff and polished it within an hour before.

Coming from a solvent refinish chemical background here i would say if it's been baked using a 2k hardener you'll be fine to clean/polish it aslong as it's not a harsh polish.
