Default Ford Fair - Ford only track time?

http://www.fordfair.co.uk/2011/02/14/track-action/

from the point of view that my mrs was hoping to take her 172 along
from the point of view that hopefully there will be more fords out than normal

What does everyone else think?

Weirdly on this page:
http://www.fordfair.co.uk/2011/02/14/track-time-rules/

It says very explicitly:

Vehicle restrictions
• Any make of road legal car is allowed on the track

DanW can you get a definitive answer?

im not sure - i think its good to be dedicated to the brand but its also good to see others cars on track.

i may not have a ford car ready for this so will therefore be thinking about taking the 325 on track

Ran, similar thoughts to myself then, ie bad for me personally but probably good for the event.
We'll be coming back from some other places we are going that weekend and were hoping to stop in on the way back including some track time in the mrs 172, dont fancy parking my 3 door up on the street in nottingham where I am the night before, and thats the only ford I have at the moment so wont be able to go on track I guess.

Chip - dont think they will have enough demand as most of the Fords will break down by August

Ford Fair track time for 2011 is for FORDS ONLY.

If you've got a non-Ford, and want to have a play around the Silverstone GP circuit, then Trax is the show for you! www.traxshows.co.uk

Gutted

Was just so convenient for a bit of track action as was planning on being at the show anyway.

Might be worth getting this page changed then:
http://www.fordfair.co.uk/2011/02/14/track-time-rules/

In case anyone with a non ford starts feeling hard done by if they have read the rules and still arent allowed on track even though they havent broken them?

The driving standard is a LOT higher at ford fair, would certainly sooner be out at that given the choice.
That'll learn me for having french and vauxhall trackday cars I guess

Just checked and I agree it just says "Helmets are compulsory" so you should be ok as it doesnt quote any minimum standard they must conform to or anything like that.

the staff at the debreif will tell you what's needed but the ususal "helmet, full cover of your arms and legs, only properly fitted camera's" type stuff is all you need to worry about really

Well the prudent thing financially as an accountant would recomend to you to do would be to spend about 20 grand buying back your 3 door to do those sessions in and then that way you wont have lost a couple of hundred quid of tickets.
My fee for this advice is only to borrow it for one session as well, so thats a real bargain that's saved you some more money

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me after all it is a Ford show. Plenty of other track days and action days through the year.

I'll find out mate - I'm not back at work until Tuesday, but I'll endeavour to find out then. Give me a bell to remind me if I don't get back to you.

pro mounts are fairly cheep, porkies recomendations in another thread were winners all round

and as for camera's, they seem to all use the same pitch/thread for the mounts regardless of camera make so you could even pic up a bargain one that would do the basic job rather than have to shell out millions for a super dooper hd version

tbh, i was dissapointed with the amount of time available, maybe this year people get a bit more choice.

its only fair to be honest, its Ford Fair.

Wonder if the Vauxhall lads would be happy if ford lads fillled their day with non Vauxhalls.

Vauxhall day ?? crikey if they did a Vauxhall only track day it would be like driving on ice with the amount of oil most of them would leave on the track.

Im glad its ford only. as said it is "ford" fair

obviously what i wonder is where things will stand in a few years?? with the country being up shit creak financially, the shows could take a massive hit and a venue with full track time such as silverstone wont be cheap either. it could go either way with ford fair as being biggest show of the year it might mean more come to ford fair as the only show of the year and hence spend more here or it could go the other way of a general decline in numbers at all the shows. I do wonder what the state of the ford scene will be like in 10 years.
