thats the whole point, everything is relative, its all well and good saying 'you should try a fast car' to then rods car isnt anything compared to a top fuel dragster, we dont all live in a world with 200mph cars and close to 1000bhp, its a brilliant achievement but for fucks sake let the people who 'only' have 300bhp etc enjoy their fun. pretty soon anyone shy of 700bhp is gonna be embarrassed to post because 'his rodliness' doesnt think your car is worthy

Why is this getting over complicated? <Modified or not is totally irrelevent in this case. The Masarrati driver in this case assumed it was an old Ford and therfore insignificant and was promptly shown otherwise. That imho IS the point and why I love my old Escort. So many people under estimate what it is and what it can do. Certainly there are a good few cars out there that have shown me a clean set of back tyres but then I've equally humbled a good few as well

Maybe the Maseratidriver simply felt like driving faster than the car ahead of his, regardless of make and model?
Maybe the Maseratidriver simply misjudged speed and distance?
Maybe the Maseratidriver spotted an iconic car and wanted to provoke it to 'race' to see what it could do?
Some people can afford very expensive toys, others can afford less expensive toys.
No need for the first group to look down upon the latter, but certainly not the other way around either.

Got to say people like rod make a forum like this I know he goes on and on and on but that's the part that makes this community I respect the time and money he's put in to his car sumthing to be proud off I guess I know he comes across as belittling people maybe he is a twat I don't know.but rod u gotta respect that a cossi smashed a mire expensive car and I love that fact when I look at my little fezzy turbo I fall in love every day again for me it's all about the simple things that make me happy and I'm sure there a few people that think of there car in the same way

Hate to say this but from what I've seen Veyron 0-200mph is around 24.2s. Rods in an old spec 0-200mph I've seen is 24.5 (he can correct if need be). That's not eating by any stretch of the imagination. In his new spec I'm guessing the only thing being eaten might be your words.
Your mate's probably never said anything as I doubt he's ever come across anything that could give him a run for his money.
If you want fast, I think Keith Cowie did around 13s to 200, but I don't think that was a road legal skyline.

I mean seriously on the road what more can you want?! 300-400bhp is fucking PLENTY on the road!!!! I mean my little Focus has only about 150bhp and it is a hoot I love driving it and can reach silly speeds if I want it to. So why would I ever need more than 400bhp?

Nope sorry.There are some on youtube of him running 8s 1/4s. I've just checked on his stats and I got it slightly out.
Further stats from the data logging show that Cowie achieved 0-60MPH in 2.5secs, 0-100MPH in 4.35secs, 0-150MPH in 8.09secs and 0-200MPH in 14.75secs all in the space of half a mile.
