I thought these where reasonably quick.....
Thought i would get the escort out for a plod around then just driving along minding my own business and he came steaming up behind me on a dual carriageway then overtook me on a roundabout and as you do i thought i would put my foot down and from 30-70* off the roundabout i had to keep lifting off or i would have rear ended him!!
He was not happy

Would he be on here if the t**t had been in an Enzo or a Veyron. Why not try it against a fast car bud.405 bhp. 0-60 mph- 5.1 s . Still proud you beat it a Standard Escort would have given it a good go on the street. Its a GT not a fast sports car.

I'm with rod on this one, the posh car will probably be a standard car from the factory, take a standard esc cos against the posh car and the escort will have it's arse handed to him!!
any car can be made to go a lot quicker than it did when it left the factory!!

Thats not the point.. the point is no car is worthy of rod and he blatantly shows that with most posts.. So what if a guy in a escort had a blast with massarati and won.. It gives you a sense of pride when a 5k escort can beat a 60k masarati.

anyway im still happy with it, i had my boost set at 1.5bar i reckon i only had 315bhp at the most, oh well his car only cost 82k according to that top gear vid

thing is rods point is bang on. He hasnt mentioned his car in this thread...
all this highlights is that lozworth should probably read up his car top trumps a bit more often as on paper he would have won on power to weight and torque delivery anyway.

Well done for beating him but tbh I'd much rather have the Maserati. Same goes for Rods car, yes it's a great statement of what you can desperately squeeze from an old Ford but at the end of the day its still just an old Ford. An old LP400 can get beat by a good percentage of the cars on this site, I'd still have the old Lambo over many of those cars though.

Hate to say this but from what I've seen Veyron 0-200mph is around 24.2s. Rods in an old spec 0-200mph I've seen is 24.5 (he can correct if need be). That's not eating by any stretch of the imagination. In his new spec I'm guessing the only thing being eaten might be your words.
Your mate's probably never said anything as I doubt he's ever come across anything that could give him a run for his money.
If you want fast, I think Keith Cowie did around 13s to 200, but I don't think that was a road legal skyline.
