if you don't use the tool, it needs putting in a blacksmiths furance to get the fookers out so yes, it's a good deal

the bushes on the other hand, i'm sure you can get better versions and they even do poly ones

I used these in mine, easy to change too as you just remove the old rubber bush and leave the metal outer sleeve in the subframe, clean it out with a wire brush attatchment on a drill and pop these ones in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Mondeo-MK...item4cf7009fa1

I don't know if the tool + the bushes would be cheaper, but I know if you were to take it into Ford's, they'd swap it for a new subframe rather than mess about swapping bushes.

and they would probably charge an arm and a leg for it too!!!! just 1 rear lower spring arm on a mk1 focus is Ł125 from them so i hate to think what a whole fucking beam is.

get some polly ones, far easier to change as you just get a blow torch (domestic is fine) to burn the old rubber out and clean and grease the oe sleaves. you won;t have any bush allignment issues then either.

Cheers for the replies

If I remove the subframe would I need the proper realignment tools or could I get away with using a socket or extension bar?

i just helped a mate fit some poly bushes to his, they were a pain in the arse to get in alright and he's noticed no difference in handling at all.
