Default Insurance time! Multicar policies?

Right, so now I am finally in the position to be looking to buy myself a nice car (its only taken me 5 years ) but I am facing the horrible truth that I have not built up any no claims for all that time and the car I finally am going to buy is going to rape me on the insurance for the first year.. oh well.

So the insurance on the mrs car is due for renewal in the next couple of month. And as I'm buying my own car, I really want to get a bit of a head start on the insurance if I can.

Does anyone know of any multi car insurance policies that allow me to start earning no claims on the mrs car with both of us being insured on the one car with a view of adding my car to it later once I have actually found the one I want?

Admiral do it. The missus started it last June and my car joined on in November when my other policy ran out. She got the multicar discount from day one as well

tbh i love admiral multi-car, such a great idea and i've no idea why other companies don't do it. i suppose theres more money to be made selling single policies

I have a multicar policy with Admiral and have no complaints, I change my car all the time and haven't been charged any admin fees. Also managed to get 2 lots of 3 years no claims thanks to them.

I have been spamming the admiral site for a while now on their quotes generator and to be fair on a 350z roadster and the mrs Micra I am getting quotes of £1400, which considering that £1200 is on the Z with zero no claims I really can't complain. The mrs is getting £200 which is currently £200 less than what she is paying on the AA just for her and myself as a named driver.

The only downside to the Admiral Multi car is they won't do modified. I've got my daily drive Volvo and the missus's Rover on an Admiral multi, but the Focus RS has to be on a seperate policy.

Bummer.... but then again the whole point of the car I am buying will be not to mod it...

Wonder how long that will last seeing as someone on the Z forums has a thread selling kits to put an iphone connection into the car.... doh...
