Default 044 pump noise

Just fitted my brand new 044 fuel pump and hard wired it straight from the battery. Finished the job turned the key and the car fired up. Checked underneath, one small fuel leak but other than that spot on. 10 minutes later stood behind the car and every now and then the pump makes a clicking noise but the tone of the buzz doesn't change? It works fine so just wanted to know is it normal or is it going to die!!???

Can you still get Optimax, do you mean V power ?
My brand new pump did the same as yours, even though all lines tank/filler/filter are new as well.
It seems that you need to worry when the continuous noise changes, I shall be going twin walbro pumps next time rather than bosch.

Just heat the copper washers up to red hot with a flame, allow to cool naturally, they will then be really soft again, like new.
A lot don't realise tightening these up actually hardens them, do it too much they get too hard and don't seal well.

The level of noise does seem to be differant from one to another really, mine has quite a load buzzing noise and you can hear the fuel rushing up the pipe.
