its my first ever time using clay.. its autoglym clay kit mate .. i sprayed some detailer and slayed it. wiped it off and then polished it with resin polish[ all in one box for 25quid] came as a full kit. the paint work shines more than it did before and its alot smoother . looks alot better and feels rich.. if you aint done it before do it mate you will see the difference ... takes all the crap out the paint

it just wipes off fella. if you get clay you have to rub it where u want it. then wipes off very easy. i polish my car every 3 weeks with autoglym.. and today i clayed it and then polished it and it looks alot better. paint feels very smooth aswell and theres no crap in the paint everythings gone

looking good. I use the meguires kit, about Ł16 for the bar and detailing spray.

Shaun, the clay bar is designed to remove grime from the paint, basically even after you wash/shampoo your car, it still has loads of crap in the paint and when you polish the car you drag this crap around.

Claybar removes this without removing any paint or being abrasive like t-cut etc, the result is super smooth clean paint that is then piss easy to polish as there is less friction.

Always advisable to polish then wax after claying to put some protection back on, i also use tar spot remover before use to get rid of clumps of tar, the clay can dso this but would rather not drag it round the paint. The clay is like putty, and you just keep the panel well lubricated and wipe the clay bar back and forth until it glides then move on to the next panel, very very easy to use.

I use poor boys black whole stuff on my car as it is black and doesn't leave white residue in the paint chips plus is is so easy to put on and take off.

Regards plastics, i use autoglym bumper restorer, like a gel, wipes on all the plastcs and will create a barrier that polish just wipes off and also brings back the black to the plastic like new without being streaky like back to black. stcik this on before polishing.

Clay bars are brilliant to use, and they are used to pic up bedded in dirt that can't be picked up by a sponge, you they don' replace polish, you still use polish afterwards, and you won't actually get it on plastic trim so no problems there. You can also use them to remove brake dust on wheels

Hijack time

This is the built in dirt my claybar pulled off half of my bootlid

And this is the result (my bonnet), nowhere as nice as the rs turbo but you can see it makes it much better.

looking good i clay my car about 3 times a year and for even better results try this

wash,dry
clay
wash,dry
ag hd paint cleanser
ag srp
ag ultra deep shine
ag hd wax

unreal results on darker cars and yes i polish it twice purely because srp has minor fillers in it and its rather quick to get on/off

well i just spent 5 hours using my clay bar an a l200,big motor.
bar gets dirty, but, cos you spray the car with a mild soap solution as your claying, the bar washes itself,so after 5 hours, its still clean

tell me about it, you spent ages washing and rinsing to run a bar over and make it look like it hasn't been touched in years, can't recomend clay bars enough to be honest.

Mo dont over do it with the clay bar and polishing, if you make your car to slipery and polished you might end up in 1964

I use the small bars that come in the kit and throw away after use, halfords are doing them 2 bars for a tenner iirc.

Get the car as clean as possible before you clay imo, tar spots etc then half a small bar would do a car, meaning 4 cars out of a tenners worth.
