Default sunroof blow out at 120mph!!! *Now With Vid*

last thursday night i was racing my mate in his frst down the motorway (which i was winning by the way) when at 120 the front of the sunroof popped up, thought this was strange as obviously it doesn't open that way. like a fool i kept my right foot down and about a mile later the wind ripped the sunroof clean out of the car and about 30 foot into the air!!

really can't see how this happened as thought the wind would have been pushing it downwards!!!
anyway... best part is, rick recorded the hole thing on his phone, hopefully link coming soon from him1

Exactly the same thing happened to Steve/Jodi on their way to an Exmouth meeting last summer

Was due to the sunroof brackets rusting away - as the water drain tubes were blocked over time

because of the pressure difference from inside the car (14.7psi - atmosphere) to the air pressure outside. higher the speed of air the lower the pressure gets! even if you only get a 2psi drop outside, thats still 1lb for every inch of that sunroof! gotta be a good 60lbs or so!!

fuck me...ive actually learned something at college

yes, was only joking, mine left the building at 167 and a bit but unfortunately my brother crapped himself so I was forced to stop and let him out (the smell)

Yes, must be quite a vacuum there when the air passes the top of the windscreen.

Its called lift...

the tops of cars are sucked upwards... hence you have front and rear spoilers to push the cars back down... unless its a Dino!
