Can you remove under tray and reach up underneath with a pair of grips?

Where abouts has the cable broken? At the latch end or the handle end?

 

It has broke catch end or so it appear.

Trying to help a lad who I work with. Has been for its MOT today and the garage said they cant get access from underneath. Told him to get it up on some stands on at home and looksy.

Am fooked if Im doing it in my whistle & flute
