Default Acid dipping split rims... where?

Hi all,

I've now got 9 (bloody ebay!) scanky split rims for my car, its time for a resto...

I could get the centres sand blast but they look bloody fiddly! So any ideas on where i can get them acid dipped?

The nearer the better, but i dont mind posting/travelling to a company with a good rep.

Cheers

Well, one set is scabby, salt has gotten under the paint, paints flaking off etc, the second set have been painted black.

I've found a company to re-chrome all the bolts and polish the centres and lips.

Im thinking i might just have the hub parts sand blasted and powder coated.

Speak to this place. They specialise in dipping so will know what can be done with ally.

www.ribbletechnology.co.uk.

They are nice people but can be a bit painful when they say they will ring back. The lady that answers the phone is a nice old dear and she tries her best. If they don't ring back, just harrrass them like I do.

They can be stripped , by chemical dipping .

Theres a place in Swindon that has all the proper booth facilities to do this , same day service too and good price .

Think theyre called the wheel specialist or something , used them myself and extremely happy with results !

Thanks very much guys!

I'll call the above firms and see what they say, Deano, they are a franchise and are also based in Farnham (pretty close to me).

Any one ever done a DIY split rim resto? Am i best off chemically stripping and then powder coating + polishing or can some one recommend something else?

Rob,
I have used ACC near Farnham. They are passfield hants and have good videos on their site of their chemical strip. They powder coat lots of bits for me too.

we supply a large amount of wheel company's with various chemicals for the process of stripping and we manufacture these in house. Currently our website is needing updating but we have undertaken this chemical supply for many years.
