Default Buying a crash helmet, upto £100

Any ideas guys? I've not got a clue when it comes to skid lids

Want a full face helmet

I want to use it to go pillian on the back of bikes, and for use at Santa Pod/track days in cars

Do bike helmets and car helmets get rated seperately, or is there not a divide?

Do you need a clear visor to do santa pod/track days? If so I'd get a clear visor to fit for those, and tinted when on the back of bikes

Any links/help etc much appreciated!

As far as i know as long as they have a gold sticker on the back you can use them for both.

I Have an AGV Bike one, but used it for karting and a car trackday at rockingham without a prob

i think they measure it in cm now, you get a tape measure, then you go around your forehead then above the ears, it needs to be a tight fit or rather snug fit, just done my bonce and it's 22.5" or 58cm depending on if you use english when you go to buy your helmet i think they convert this, and tell you that you need a size 6 or whatever, or that's what they used to do, might be different now

Too late if you've already bought it, but don't buy a lid unless you KNOW its comfortable and doesn't mist up and weights a ton or you'll hate it and you'll end up with a sore neck.
And remember, your bonce is worth more than £100

Used to know this as I had a scooter, as said I seem to remember the gold sticker being the thing you want to see, IIRC it means it meets a standard, I seem to remember the bloke telling me so long as it has this this it's just as safe as a more expensive helmet, but the extra your paying is for the design/brand. AGV is a good make.

Shoei I remember is an expensive brand.

how much is your head worth? step dad has spent quite a bit on his lid also if your using it for carting what about a neck brace thats a bit more weight ripping away from your body so protect it.

good health mate! you dont know it till you have it!

sorry to put a downer on it but always stiks in the back of my mind when im karting, I borrowed a rossi rep lid when riding my mates scoot for two months n it was worth more than the scoot I was on an as always i made sure it was a good fit and wouldnt come off with a slight pull.

its your life mate

Yeah the sizing is all done in cm as said

Well it says it's DOT approved and found out after I bought it, that it's the same make as the one I borrowed Thursday, which was fine

It meets DOT approval, so is considered safe enough!
