Default Windscreen replacement

Hi guys.

wheres the best/cheapest place to buy a windscreen for a mk4 escort.
Has anyone ever fitted one of these before? How big a job was it?
I know they're not bonded in so wouldn't mind giving it a go myself and save a few pennies.

Cheers James

Well I've called around a few companies mainly smaller local glass fitters.
I've had quotes from £250 supplied from autoglass who smuggly gave a little attitude about me saying I didnt want to pay the £80 insurance excess if possible to get supplied cheaper. Best quote of the day though so far is from a local company called ABC, £30 for clear, £35 for green tint!

So next question is, which is best/looks standard for a mk4?

i put a green with a toptint in my s2 looked shithot why not just get them to fit it aswell that way you get warrenty and if you split it fitting it youll need to splash out again.

iv fitted a few there easy but... theres always a chance of splitting it

autoglass are always dear... i work for national windscreens pitty your down south

That depends.... is it a s2 or rep? If so green tint all round. If a base model then just then clear is fine IMO

If i didn't need the screen so quick i would have snapped that off you for £60!

It's just a base model with a turbo lump. Gone for clear in the end, matches the rest of the glass

Just finished fitting it, and i think that might have been one of the most relaxing stress free jobs i've ever had to do on a mk4 Escort, a bit of strimmer wire does the trick nicely
