I think it has to be done tastefully, ive done full interiors in snot green which imo look far too much, also our first turbo demo car had everything inside flocked black which again I thought looked to much. But the latest trend of following the oem colour patterns seems to be a very tasteful mod. Also using different lengths such as .5mm flock give a totally different effect to the run of the mill 1mm.
People to tend to forget thats its to serve a purpose and can easily get carried away, but if its done tastefully I think its a very cost effective way of bringing an old tatty interior back up to date.

I have bought a flocked dash for the VR6 track car for 2 reasons.
1 the glare of the dash on to the screen when on track is usually where your looking at an apex and all you see is dash reflection
2 it looks great

i think posts like this need a pic or 2 to see what the crack is like with this flocking lark, the flocked dashboard stops glare and when your competing in motorsport thats the last thing you want in your eyes.
I have heard that Raj is a great guy but unfortunately his kettle has broke

1mm is the industry standard and is pretty easy to apply, .5mm give a more suede affect and is extremly durable, it is the best finish imo but it is extremly hard to apply and the charge has to be reduced as the flock becomes so static it attrack anything and everything to it meaning that even in a booth particles, hairs etc can get dragged into the adhesive. But when it does turn out as it should it really does look the nuts and I would be suprised if anyone can tell the difference between a proper .5mm dash and an alcantera dash (which is £400)
Sorry for the poor explanation

i've got it done to mine ( not my chioce, brought the car like it) i was a bit unsure about it at first but after a few days its grown on me and im kind of stating to like it...
so i think its ok as long is its done tastefully and in a reasonable colour
