If this has spun a shell, then the crank will be out of shape, I hope the cranks being replaced at the same time - as you will be throwing money away otherwise.
Good luck in the build (overnight motors lol )and I hope your hard work pays off for you.

My thoughts exactly, any idea why it did in the first place Ron?

Quick whip round with a bit of paper and it'll probably last ok just for a few minutes on track, better to give it a go and risk further damage to the crank than to miss a days racing.

It is all about the points as this year you have to drop one round from your points score. So if Ronnie picks up points from today and he will, then it lessons the pain even if he has to miss the next round. 2 non point scoring rounds would effectively wipe out his chance at the title.

On our way home now, as said we got it running early hours so we managed to get out today and it did work to an extent. But the knock did return in the afternoon but tbh it was only ever a lash together and hope for the best, made the final as there was only three cars in class today so just had to cross the line, So all our work was not in vain and we picked up a third place victory and a precious 70 points. So now we have 5weeks to try to fund a bottom end build.
Ps this bottom end never had a build and is now eight years old...

hate to say this dude but that sounds like why it went wrong
i'd say one of them motors needs a full rebuild before a season and regular proper checks for wear and even then stuff changing or rebuilding at certain amounts of miles use to prevent a dnf. Well done though for trying

The rod either needs repaired or replaced. It will always fail again within a very short period of time

Defo agree there Stevie buy you can only use what you have at the time, the damage was all ready done and there was points literally sitting on the table just to be picked off, and lucky for Ron/us the hard work paid off

ha ha thanks Al, If it came to it i have some standard bore 7.2 pistons with cut outs witch have been L+B what i was going to put back in my engine, but i think with my engine id be silly not to put in some forged jobbies as i will be right on there limit at the power i will be running
Nah that's cracking mate, good result now, its not a major fix and Ronnie got the important points he needed. Big result by the sound of things
