Default Polo Window and Locking problems

Hi, my wifes got a polo which is no end of grief. Todays trick is that the central locking and electric window wont work in the drivers door
But
The central locking works in the drivers door if I use the key in the passenger door

The only thing I can think of is its the switch in the drivers door that houses the locking and electric windows buttons or the loom breaking down where it goes between door and body
Has anyone on here experienced the same and if so what was the fix?

For info if anybody ever does a search on this, it was the loom breaking down where it goes from door to main body.

Very common apparently in lots of VW's

Easy fix tho

i had the same problem with a 01 caddy van man and i used to open and shut it via the back door lock.It had c/l and would work fine from the passenger door and the back door but just keep spinning in the drivers lock.I also know someone with a skoda vrs that can lock and unlock the car via the boot yet all the locks work fine as its a better made car than a vw lol but this is the wrong post for that

As mentioned check the loom in the door bound to be a cut wire

Best of luck

Trapped wire and the opening/closing of the door over time has eventually broke it, like if you get a paperclip and bend it back and forth so many times it will snap.
