Default the world's fastest Ford Cortina?

hailing from Oz, is this the world's fastest Cortina? still runs factory style suspension, 370ci Windsor and 2 x 70mm turbo's weighing 3050lbs.

well the boys with the silver cortina stepped up the combo last weekend and this is what happened

Fast as them !!,I would of still done a traffic light grand prix in my gold mk5 2.0GL
My green one was quicker and I even chopped the badges up on the back to read 1.6GT.
Not too ruin the thread though but was it anyone on here who had the matt black MK3 about 10 years ago.I remember seeing it at the pod,it wasn't in this league but it wasn't shy either

I was thinking of that car only the other day. It was still running at the Pod about 3 years ago but i haven't seen it recently.

I saw it coming down the motorway after it had been run so it was obviously no trailer queen lol,FFF (FIT FORM FUNCTION) .Surprised a few people iirc

Joe's engine is a 370ci Windsor, Dart block, with 70mm turbo's (largest allowed in the class that these 2 cars race. Joe also hit 200mph that same weekend. it was the most consistent car on the weekend running 7.3-7.4 all weekend.

I have a old street machine mag with this cortina feature in it. I seen it at the pod a few years back it was running a quick cossie engine. It was a quick car too.

Loved Mick Rogers car. Stage 3 YB with a BIG shot of gas and ran regular 10 second quarter miles! I.e. As quick as a Veryon!
