As different as you want to be, you'll be gutted once you have gone to all that effort to be seen off by first redtop corsa you come accross.

In standard form, if in good condition, a redtop is a much better engine a zetec imo.

I have a old flymo in the garage, one of them 2 stroke screamers.

Fit that to be different!

Them 1600 corsa gsi engines are meant to respond well to tuning so why not do that instead of loads of hassle fitting a zetec to get 125bhp?

Gavin.

You own a white Saph, that looks pretty much like every other white Saph too. Guess you wont stand out from the crowd either

As above. Why go to all the hassle when a redtop will go straight in.

Sorry, but it still dont make it special or overly exciting compared to the car thats sat beside on comps, racelines, oz's etc, still just another white Saph.

RS1800 is slow as fuck at the best of times, loads of agro fitting the motor to end up with a car that will get handed its arse by fairly normal cars. Stick an XE in there and enjoy it. It's not different but it does work

Tune the 1.6 then as it's supposed to respond quite well. It sounds like you're getting far too tied up in being different rather than achieving a result.

Mate of mine put a 2.5 V6 in his Reigger kitted Astra Mk3 GSi that was in Total Vauxhall years back and that couldn't out pace my old XR2i.

I would go the redtop route personally, not C20LET though, so tight for space with that engine, red top would be pretty tight as well. mate brought one and it was terrible although he liked it, although don't think it was that good a conversion, did nothing for me, red top would be more suited imo and actually can make a nice subtle conversion I would imagine WHEN done correctly, imo that engine is better than a Zetec in terms of bang for bucks (There 150HP arn't they?), as said the 1600 is known to respond quite well to tuning as well.
