Toad ai606, or better(imo) C5T2, if still available, is what I'd fit.
It depends on whether you need cat approval or not, if you do it needs proper install, ask around as there are some seriously horrific pro install jobs, and some awsome diy jobs.
As alarms go it is dead easy, a few are starting to have issues with the back up battery/s leaking now, as the old "vinic" ones were NI-CD, but now NI-MH that don't leak when old.
Most alarms problems are caused by things other than the alarm, usually a duff install.

As said above by people, it is the installer rather than the alarm you need to worry about.

A Clifford is more for people who want "gadgets" and contrary to most opinions, they are/were good alarms if installed correctly. The latest ones (Hornet, etc...) are not so good as they are overly complicated and easy to false-alarm.

Toad, on the other hand, are a simple alarm which does what it says on the box. I have both types, which I have installed myself (being an ex Clifford and Toad installer) and they have been absolutely fine.

Personally, I would avoid an install by GAP, they are cowboys IMO, pure and simple. Also, anyone who comes to your house to install the system should be avoided. They will be rushing, and then mistakes happen.

I have seen Cat1 systems installed in an hour or so, far too quick. I would want half a day absolute minimum to do an install, as I would want most the dash out to hide it all neatly and make joins impossible to access quickly.
