Default removing and filling fog lights on rear of mk6... has any one done this before?

hello, i've just brought a mk6 escort with the cosworth kit on it.
i wanted the mk5 rep but couldn't get hold of one, so the mk6 will have to do.
what im thinking though, is removing the fog's from the boot lid and filling them in to make it look a bit more like the mk5.

has anyone tryed this before on here or got any pic's of what it looks like when done.

i've seen the afterburner light kits that have blanking plates with them but im not to keen on them and i cant get hold of the blanking plates by themselves.
but i think i would prefair it just to be smoothed out so it looks like they were never there.

i know the fog is needed for the mot but im sure i'll find a way around it lol.

i know i've rambled on a bit now but would really appreciate any help and advice or comments
thanks

Why not just fit a mk5 boot lid?

i have thought about it but i dont know if it would fit as where the brake light meets the boot lid is a vertical line on the mk6, but on the mk5 it's at more of an angle?

will the mk5 bootlid fit?
i dont know if the mk5 lights will fit either?

any ideas on that mate?

Filling the lights will be a ball ache and time consuming (see expensive). Fit Mk5 tailgate and lights and mod from there.

I have seen it done, but it looks gash. The car in the pic looks good as it is.
