Professional Waffler
Good on ya
Got some pics somewhere of Rachel fitting her camshaft to her new ported cylinder head somewhere. And have an even better photo of her up to her elbow in the oil drain tray cos she dropped the sump plug in there when she did her first oil change

Errr... what do you mean by "prep those surfaces nicely".... Quick... where's my manual......
Seriously, I know I need to check the block for flatness but dont know how really... The head is going to a engineer in Fleet to be cleaned and checked over. He's also doing the exhaust manifold studs (got 3 missing: 2 broken in the head, 1 completely gone) and a light skim, valves guides and stem seals if needed... Anything else I need to look for?

Is yours not fixed? The air box we got you last week didn't do it then?
What's wrong with it now?

The flatness is best left to an engineer to check and have him skim the absolute minimum away.
As for what i mean by "preperation of surfaces" the gasket can ONLY seal to perfectly flat & perfectly clean surfaces, so when it comes time to put the head back on, the block and head face's must both be spotless
Example's:
The head shown isnt a YB as i couldnt find one at home, but you get the idea? Surface preperation is the key to a decent result. ESPECIALLY if you go for a steel gasket
Hope this advice is of some use to you.

Thanks Stu!! I will have the man in Fleet check all that for me. I thought you meant other type of prep...
