GUZZLER blew my cossie up......**now with pics*
We havnt been out for ages, so we thought we would have a little drive to
Southend, Our mates escort turbo blew up just after Watford on the M25,
We were having a wee bit of a tearup with my mates Evo 8 FQ340,
felt the cossie pink a bit, slowed down a bit, accelerated a bit & it felt all
wrong,,, managed to nurse it to the garage off jct 28 smoking & misfiring,
Luckily we have good friends and our mate got a flat bed to pick us up and he also got his mates car to lend us to drive home xr2i
Matt decided to go take the spark plugs out at 1.30am, this morning only to find that number 4 had melted and the electrode had dropped in to the bore, If that wasnt bad enough we then realise that the spark plugs that were in there were BCR80S ESCORT TURBO ones
Weve only had the car 3 weeks typical
So ive told matt that i want it fixed for tomorrow or else pmsl , so hes gonna take the head off today and check the extent of the damage, ill post some pics up later

Wounder... that could be an engine rebuild job.
Non necessarily the plugs fault either as that temperature range is actually ok for stage 3 even if i do think they are very soft. Temperature of the head will do that to an engine easily, was she running hot?
The fact you heard a YB pinking is the key to your problems...

My old car and it didn't miss a beat whilst i owned it Its a Cossie though and although they are built to be thrashed sometimes they do spit their dummys out without warning! Nature of the beast i guess.
Hope its repairable and btw it looks cool on the MO's
