How people can spend 5k+ on a nice motor and begrudge the Ł100 for a basic check over and set up I'll never know.
ps I ran bcr8es at about 220-230 bhp forever in my rst, they didn't fall to pieces.

I'm not sure about in this case but with Stu saying about engine temperatures causing this, I know mine went hot, but the standard guage is so slow to react it didn't read hot until long after it had gone pop and then it rocketted off the end of the water temp guage when I was cruising to a stop...
Hence this sort of miss-hap is not always foreseable by any means!
