Hi need to set the injection timing on my 2000 1.8d escort van. any one done this before and is it just a case of taking the belt of and turning the pump a tooth at a time? thanks

 

no you dont take the belt off...unless you lock the engine with pins... there are bolts on the pump pulley that you slacken there is a small amount of movement to allow for adjustment

 

As said locking pins/drill bits, 8mm from memory, easy as anything to do, all explained previously on pf threads, there is a book dedicated to the 1.6/1.8d detailing this also.
Don't forget if new to you, it might pay to do BOTH belts at same time.
