Default AP brakes, what model to choose?

I'm trying to decide on what front brakes to buy after selling my old Brembos complete with the centrelock 19" Cromodoras.

At the moment I'm stuck between

-CP5555 calipers with floating 355mm discs

-CP7040 calipers with bolted 355mm discs

There is a £725 price difference (excl VAT!). So the big question is, are the CP5555 and floating discs really that much better that they're worth it?

Before anyone suggests 362mm discs and CP7040 calipers, they wont clear the Rota 9x18"

I agree that the CP5555 looks better, but are they really that much better performance wise to warrant the price hike?

For road use you're not going to notice much difference but if its a track car I'd spend the extra.

Just spend the extra dosh mate, if I wasn't wasting all my cash on an engine build, I'd waste it on those brakes this month

Its mostly "spirited" driving on the road, but also gets used in autoslalom 5-6 times a year. The brakes get a workout there, but never high speeds, never above 3rd gear...

Don't be a girl, just buy them.

You do know the daily drivers can be bought at around £200 right?

Scrap value for cars here is £150, so wont get much usable for that price here. I drive well over 100 miles a day, so want something decent and reliable. If I want to drive a unreliable old shitter I'll take the Escort

Nice

But my daily poke 1.7 Puma is rusting away at 110k miles, she's still a beaut to drive though!
