Default Megane 225 Trophy?

Going to look at a 55 plate with a mate tomorrow. Grey 92k on clocks, Samco hoses, DV. Timing belt done at 75k, full MOT, all for £4.5k. Anybody know much about them, any issues to watch for?

He was considering another Clio Cup but spotted this.

Seems cheap! These meganes suffer with the same typical French electrics woes, my friend's mum had one, in the 6 months she owned it, it had 2 window motors, tyre pressure sensors packed in, central locking was intermittant and the horn stopped working.

As Richie said. Like the looks and the performance aint bad but the Renault reputation lets them down.

my mate had one it always messed up...almost every time he launched it it wheelspun and just kept braking the engine mounts...... then he had drive shaft problems...crap wiring.. and then in the end the uprated exhaust kept blowing off the turbo so he just had enough of it...however they are rapid!!! light and handle toooo good proper car on a track if it doesnt break the engine mount lol....i think a clio is better he has 2 now and rags them like he stole them and they are proving to be reliable one is on throttle bodies..... if he does get the megane chack them mounts.. no misfires and make sure everything works like the traction,

on the other hand my cousin bought a r26 f1 magane about 6 month ago and its NEVER LET him down

Test drive complete, tidy car with a few tweeks. Felt really stable and planted but....

.. God it was disappointingly slow :-( The Clio Cup we ducked out in 10 minutes later would have eaten it alive.

I'd say there was something wrong with it.

I test drove a RenaultSport 200 Clio prior to the R26 230bhp Megane I bought and the Clio was just not a patch on it. The Megane has that typical turbo-car pull, where the Clio just felt slow because it was so smooth. Did nothing for me.

My guess is it's got a fucked MAP sensor or something and is running no boost.

Even the boost delivery on my A4 felt far more aggressive and sporty (and that's not what I'd call a fast car).

It revved like it was going to come on boost and go but just didn't.

2 things raised an eyebrow. The dump valve was tapped into the vacume pipe for the brake servo, and it had one of those gay arse Eco-tec valves.
