Default Mk3 escort 2.0 sierra dohc engine ?

Hi does anyone know if a 2.0 dohc engine from a 1992 sierra fit in a mk3 escort ? Would a rs2000 gearbox fit ?
Any info gratefully received !

In theory yes. You'll need at least the sump from and RS2000 as well as the gearbox. I would kinda ask why though?

A zetec would be an easier option and a 1.8 with 2.0 cams or even a 2.0 litre would be more powerful.

Why not just fit the RS2000 engine? Its the same as the sierra one but mounted FWD.

As said above. I would rather fit a zetec or the rs2000 engine. The 2ltr dohc engine is only a 8 valve engine.

Ok thanks, the reason for the sierra engine is that it's free !!!

Would the standard driveshafts fit or do I need rs2000 driveshafts and hubs
What type of gear linkage does the rs2000 gearbox use ?
Many thanks

Ah free is a good reason! And there would be a bit of WTF factor when you opened the bonnet which I've gotta say kinda appeals to me.

As for driveshafts I'm not sure as i'm not that familiar with FWD Fords.

It's probably possible, but I'd sooner pay for an engine and fit the 16v I4 from the RS2000. Extra 25bhp is always good.

Just modify the mount, use an RS Turbo box and you're well on the way!
