Default clifford alarm help?

Basically ive got a clifford concept 650 on my rs turbo that has got issues to say the least lol.
It was working perfectly ok until the other week when I decided to put a new clock/interior light in(the orogonal clock had stopped working).
Since doing this everytime I arm the alarm I get the usual 2 chirps but after 30 seconds of it being armed I get 4 louder chirps and the alarm just keeps going off. This is obviously related to the interior light as this is wired into the alarm because the light comes on upon disarming.
Ive done a factory reset using the 2 button controls pad on the dash but this has not cured it. Ive also left the battery off for a number of weeks whilst its in storage but again nothing has changed.

Any ideas people????

Cheers Tomo

First of all mate, nothing you do to the alarm will make any difference imo. its simply doing its job by alerting you to a "problem". if it was working fine before you introduced the light its a problem with the light, most probably the way you've wired it in.

check you've not left any joints exposed that are earthing to the body and double check your wiring is correct anyaway. its odd that the light comes on when the alarm chirps though.

try leaving the interior light in the on position

as it could be the 12 second delay on interior light

cheers for the quick replys guys,

Forgot to mention that ive checked the fitment of the new light to make sure it wasnt earthing to the body, ive even tried leaving the light hanging on the wires not fitted at all but plugged in. ive even fitted the old light/clock but it still does the same.

Also the interior light doesnt come on when the problem occurrs in my origonal post I was just pointing out that the light is linked to the alarm because in normal working conditions when the alarm is de activated it comes on.

The manual for my concept 500 says 2 then 4 :-5sec delay door is open, or 10sec delay -sensor is malfunctioning.

I had a problem with my bonnet switch a few weeks back. Had to adjust it slightly to stop it going off.

You should also be able to check what the last sensor was to trip the alarm to confirm what it is.
