BMW 540 auto , round town £20 = 45miles but on a run I have seen over 90miles
P38 Range rover 4.6 vogue round town 30 miles if I'm lucky and 50 on a run providing I don't use kickdown and stick below 60mph, it's fucking horrendous .
But , for the money I haven't found anything to equal the BMW for smoothness and power and the rangey is a godsend when we get the snow and we want to go snowboarding or for dragging the jetski's up the beach.

If you do need a car why not just have a more economical runaround?

ive used xr2's as dailys for 12 years,i used my bro's 115 tdci modingo for few days last week and it seriously made me think about giving up driving an xr2,but then i gave him the car back jumped in the xr2 and well,i actually enjoy driving the xr2 even though its expensive to run

just finding my feet
i get about 110 miles to 20 quid driving through london,,,,,, LESS on motorways but thats down to driving style,,,
another thing to consider is oil consumption on cars with milage with some engines which sort of adds to running costs aswell as price of road tax and insurance
i prob spend 650 quid a month running a car based on the costings of basic running costs, insurance, tax, parking, fuel

Happily retired
I measured it at Vmax in November it did 1.82mpg @ £30 gallon on 106ron. Thats 1.3 miles for £20. On the road i would get around 40miles for £20.

Clio 1.5 diseasal, 250-300 miles to £20 depending on fuel price.
Too cheap to get rid of the bloody thing.
S2000, maybe 80 miles if driven carefully, probably 50 or so if not.
CBR600, anywhere between 220 and 100.

There really is some piss poor mpg figures on here lol. 70miles to 20 pounds is roughly 20mpg. In my st170 i get nearly 80miles for 20pounds of fuel hopefully my new lambda will improve this a bit

On the mpg clock in the car it sometimes goes as high as 85mpg but once worked out over a period of time - litres bought - cost litre and mileage this is what came back (using Android MPG calculator)
All town short trips as i only work 3 miles away

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Did a 400 mile round trip yesterday in a Disco 300 tdi.
200 miles there pulling an empty 3 ton capacity trailer.
200 miles back with a Disco TD5 (weighs 2 tonnes) on the trailer, up and down North Wales hills on the A.55 from Anglesey.
Total fuel used £100.
£20 / 80 miles.
