(mini cooper 2004 1.6) I removed the cylinder head/timing chain etc today, I'm going to order parts in the morning, has anyone had any dealings with these? It will most likely need the head skimmed but I'm not sure if these can be skimmed or how much I can take off? Any help appreciated

Thanks mate, It was still running when I stripped it today so I didn't get too hot to melt the manifold, but hot enough to cause a slight missfire and boiling up, Ł175 seems fair, did you replace the chain, guides and pulleys? If you did can you remember how much they were? The is going to cost me a small fortune

The thermostat jammed solid and she drove it for 25miles, she didn't realise there was no heaters and the gauge had blew through the roof
Probally had the tunes on as usual, kept driving till it cut out, by that time the damage was already done. It has been a good little car till now tbh
