Default Exhaust Systems, straight pipe?

Hello,

With a exhaust pipe do you need the box in the middle or can you just have a straight pipe from the front to back?

http://www.roosemotorsport.co.uk/pro...oducts_id=1857

So that exhaust without the middle bit. What does the middle one do? just make it more quiet?

This is for a road car.

Many Thanks Eigdoog.

Hi,
My 2wd saph only has one silencer/back box and has never had a problem with MOT's or police.
The middle section in the pic is poss another silencer so it would be quieter.

See thats what i thought, i wanted just a 3" pipe straight to the back and a box on the back. Mine right now has 5 boxes...

And one at the back.

find a local steel tubing place, i got mine locally at £20 a metre for 3" stainless 316 grade and mandrel bends at £10 a pop cash deal.
i'll have a full exhaust for less than £100 quid, plus silencer/tailpipe.

That mongoose does have a silencer and rear box as most aftermarket exhausts for a Cosworth.Mine is the same.Your exhaust is the standard system. If you want some piping to just remove the silencers try http://www.mijexhaust.com/ they do all sorts of piping and not at a bad price.
