have'ing a full restoration done on my frst, so far all new panels been done been seamsealed and primed and flatened, paid to have it sprayed in frozen white, my problem is the guy who has done all the work has been told his new daugther has a shadow on her brain and has,ent got long left, now my problem i have is his work is amazing so dont really wont 2 go anywhere else but i need car back i,v given him a few months without hassel'ing him because of situation,how do u think i should go about asking him wots going on without come'ing across as a hartless twat, as said i,v allready paid him not worried about that moneys fuk all with wot he's going through, but its been 4 months and i,m miss'ing the car and wont 2 try and get her finished this year

Just be sympathetic and ask for an update on when you can expect it back.

Your car is important to you, but for him it's the least of his worries mate. He'll doubtless do what he can when he can, but for the meantime let him deal with the priorities in his life.
