just joined need help bought mk3 rs turbo with bust turbo he drove it for one mile with finns stuck and white smoke coming out of exhaust and turbo squealing for days before it went do i take head off to check bores and rings help please cheers

If the turbo just seized then at least the fins didnt go flying through the inlet. Did he run it out of oil at all? In theory if the turbo just gave up but the engine wasnt starved of oil then shouldn't be a problem.

ordered turbo will have it for saterday there is still oil in engine the bloke i bought it of had a turbo specialist look at it i seen it running for a about 30 seconds after it blow told him to turn it off and not run it so he left it on front not on his drive told him turbo knackered or oil seals gone didnt take inlet off or neck off to have look didnt have time the bloke came out quoted 900 quid so i got it cheap he said turbo seized dont know state of finns yet until saterday hoping they still in there when heard it running sounded ok didnt hear any strange noises but dont know if i would oil lined the inside of tailpipe was dripping off turbo pipes one is split big and plums of white smoke when running i can trust what m8 said what had happened he crawled home known him years car is mint three owner including him he had it four months last owner 19 years never out in rain or snow always garaged only sold car as he was extending kitchen and making bedroom on top so losing garage will be posting pics when sust out how to work my phone build engine nice work my phone losing lol
