I must admit, I agree. Alot of car's now days will happily do 120-odd mph with no worries whatsoever.

A lot of modern cars are more than capable of doing 120 odd mph but are the drivers piloting them? How often do you see high speed chases on TV where the driver is not up to the performance of the car?

126miles in 1hr 20mins door to door, wow now I have written it down it doesn't look that impressive. its a 2hr journey sticking to the speed limits.

Average speed 138 without including anytime for a word from the boys in blue.
If they spoke to you for 3mins, you would have had to average 150.
I'm not convinced

Don't think that's harsh TBH, atleast you've stated the facts, most people would've just said he got caught speeding at 128mph, and made it sound harsh, but all the other "incidents" make it justified IMO.
Ginge, there are plenty of 30MPH roads you could do well over a ton on no bother, not that I would.

for about 3 miles in total it wasn't motorway, and there were about 4 roundabouts to negotiate, and the car i was using at the time was capable of topping 155 mph, after all, it went through the speed trap at alconbury at 154 mph in 2000 for revs magazine

i'm pretty sure that if i can do a 140 mile journey in 1 hour 45 minutes in a van with a top speed of about 85 on the flat, it's not too difficult to do that

i did however use a full tank of fuel
