Default Can you paint hoses?

Hello,



So can you paint the hoses in the engine bay? Im trying to be cheap here...

If no one has tried this WHY NOT?!?!?!?!? I was just going to try this and see how it does but i thought ill ask incase someone has already fucked theres up.

There just the standard black ones.

No Paint will just split and fall off as soon as you try to fit them.

no but you can get coloured silicone tape to wrap them in

They have done this so we spend ŁŁŁŁ on coloured hoses

IMO, a clean, shined up set of standard hoses will look a million times better than any painted, tape wrapped, fake braided etc hoses ever will!

you would be surprised if applied properly you would be hard pushed to tell the difference as it actually vulcanises to the rubber and is made of the same type of silicone as silicone hoses are!
if you look at a proper silicone hose you will see that the outer layer is wrapped around the hose anyway in the exact same way as the tape would be!

What if they was painted while on the car and clover EVERYTHING up?

I dont think ill do this but do you think it would be ok?

Oh that sounds fair! I was thinking of trying one hose that you dont really see so if it did fuck up you wont see it.

dont paint them, paint will not at all adhere to rubber definatley not without using special rubber adhesive paint that will cost more than silicone hoses will anyway!! plus even then the rubber paint you can get is for painting old school spoilers and not something that will be subject to heat

please dont ruin a cossie with cheap bodges you are doing well with your resto so far

Cheers for the everything! i wont paint any. Ill keep black this year or near the end of the year. Just need them cleaned right up as they look shit at the moment.
